Be The Light...

Simply means to encourage people to stay the course or take steps forward in their own lives. You do this by communicating with them or taking action on their behalf.

Communication can be a text message, Email, written letter, phone call or even a surprise visit. Which one you choose will depend on the situation the person is in and your relationship with them.

Taking action can be something simple like holding a door for someone. Asking how someone's day is going and listening for their answer. Donating food or volunteering at a local shelter.

If you're new to this sort of thing, it can be challenging to figure out. But at least you're here and you can consider this your next step to doing something to help someone else.

Communications

It is amazing how much good can come from the most simple act. Maybe a note passed to a friend wishing them luck with a project or an event they're anxious about. Maybe it's realizing that your parents do know some things and it's okay to let some of their words sink in. Once in a while. And showing some level of appreciation for their efforts.

A simple way to feel engaged is to become aware of the people around you. Your friends, people you interact with on a daily or weekly basis. And then to engage them with a simple "Hello" said face-to-face. And then maybe you take a bigger step and ask how they're doing and wait patiently for their answer.

Engaging people is a way to remind yourself that for as busy and possibly stress filled your life is, there are other people dealing with the same things. And at some point you realize that no matter where you are in life, you're not alone. Someone else has or is where you are, right now.

If you want to receive an encouraging word from time to time. The best way to make that happen is to give an encouraging word to the people in your world. We want to help you make that happen. To become engaged. To help others to rise up and improve their own situation. And while doing so, help yourself to rise up.
